If you’re missing out this year by not staying at our award-winning Holderness bed and breakfast this season, we have good news! The next best thing is to catch AutumnWatch with the incredible Samantha Brown! You’ll feel like you’re transported to the colorful scenes of Squam Lake.
What is AutumnWatch – New England?
PBS and BBC will team up to film a new three-part live event called “AUTUMNWATCH – NEW ENGLAND” which will air Wednesday – Friday, October 17 – 19, 2018, at 8 – 9 pm EST. (Be sure to check local listings). The focus will be on New England historical sites and cultural traditions, in addition to the local wildlife and the picturesque imagery of the vibrant red and gold landscapes in the region. Find out more about Native American history, Halloween traditions, regional fairs, and local farms that provide the area with apples, pumpkins, cranberries, and maple syrup.
Local experts in food, wildlife, music, literature and history will join Travel Expert Samantha Brown, BBC presenter Chris Packham, and wildlife cinematographer Bob Poole each night to showcase characteristics special to New England. Naturalists from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center will showcase and discuss native wildlife, and live cameras will be set up to photograph the scenery around the Science Center’s 200+ acre property 24 hours a day. The center will also provide pontoon boats for the film crew to film footage on Squam Lake.
